I've recently visited my profile and saw that some arguments have been going on and though I try not to post about my problems as much as possible I feel like I have to since I am being labeled as a scam. If you guys didn't know I am being pressured to pay tuition for a course I have no passion for and it caused me major depression that I had to stop this term. And even so I did, my parents told me to settle my pending balance at school as they have no intentions of doing so. Now I am participating in conventions and managing my online shop to try and earn as much so I can settle my balance more quickly and return to my commissions in deviantart but after seeing such responses, I can't help but feel offended that I am being labeled as such, we may have our own problems but you can't just assume it is that easy for me. I already apologized before and as I've said it is no excuse and I'm just hoping you can be more understanding. I'm facing deadlines after deadlines but I have no intentions of completely abandoning my commissions since it has been paid for. I know it is unprofessional but please understand my situation. If you feel like you aren't interested anymore and that my art isn't worth the wait, please contact me for a refund. I will try my best to quickly give back your money. I don't know if after all this I can still go back to deviantart since this issue really hit me hard. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm sorry for commenting straight on your profile, but could you please fix that pixel I've asked you to fix months ago?
I mean, I do pixel work occasionally and this should really, really not take more than 30 minutes, no matter what other work you have going on. Yet I have been waiting 5 months for you to fix my character's hair. :/

If you can't finish commissions at a decent time (my friend cmoontoon has been waiting for her pixel for nearly a year), you should really reconsider taking them at all.

sorry for intruding since i shouldn't really be getting involved with other peoples business, but I just wanted to say that it can be pretty time consuming to fix even a small aspect of a picture. They clearly hadn't quite got the time yet to edit the picture yet. I just took a look at the commission they did for you, and in my opinion the hair looks like it would be quite time consuming and might take "more than 30 minutes" to redo, especially if they have a lot of other things going on such as school deadlines to meet as well. Unless you or your friend explicitly set a deadline before they took the commission, i don't really think it's fair to make them rush it like that. Thank you for reading.

You honestly shouldn't really be getting involved with other people's business, especially when all you have to offer are extremely poor excuses on behalf of another artist.

I have been waiting SINCE DECEMBER for her to fix the hair on my pixel. I don't know how much experience you have in pixel work, but I happen to have plenty, and in my professional opinion, I don't think that fixing the HAIR (which she already outlined, as she sent me a WIP in January, by the way) should take SIX MONTHS to finish.

I have commissioned this artist way back in summer last year, as has my friend. Leaving a commissioner waiting this long is, frankly, disgustingly unprofessional, even more so when your only excuse is 'but school tho'. I'm a college student with an extremely hectic schedule, and yet I still take my commissions very seriously, give them top priority and finish them WITHIN DAYS. Because THAT is how you establish yourself as a professional, dependable artist, and that's how you gain returning customers and secure an income.

When I am faced with behaviour such as this artist's, I am already firmly decided to never commission them again, and warn any friend that might commission them about her incompetence to finish owed work in a decent amount of time.
She proceeds to add salt to wound with the fact that she has been online since I posted my comment, and she decided to ignore it. That leaves all kinds of bad impressions and a massive feeling of disrespect.

If that is the behaviour you are going to have towards your commissioners, if that is the low priority that your commissions hold for you, then you should NOT take commissions.

i apologise. As i mentioned before, it is none of my business. I'm not trying to
start an argument here, I just saw your comment and was justifying the artist, and
that they probably have more of a valid reason than you think.

I have 0 experience in pixel art and i have no idea how long it takes, but currently
being a high school student myself i know how you can get unexpected work thrown
at you when you think you have time to do commissions. College work might be
more intense than school, but you grow your working speed and time management
skills with age, so I believe it's unfair to compare yourself to the artist. We all have
different levels of endurance and you are clearly incredibly good at finding time for
your commissions, but you need to accept that some people prioritize other things such
as schoolwork as that, i personally think may be slightly more important at this stage
because it  hugely affects their future as an adult, where as with a commission, although
it is frowned upon and be seen as "disgustingly unprofessional", can be postponed.
Especially as you are a professional artist studying at college and the artist is a school
student, you should take into consideration that they may take longer than you would,
and you should know how difficult it can be to balance out school work and commissions
at all, never mind prioritize commissions over school work.

I'm not saying that you're completely in the wrong, but they have even posted a journal
apologizing for the delay. I don't know about you but i'd much rather prefer work
that has been completed to its highest standard than work that has been pressured to
complete, and has been worked on with stress and paranoia that their commissioner would
be looking at their watch and sighing every minute it hasn't been completed yet. Please be
more considerate towards them, and if you are in such a hurry ( even though, in fact, it's
only been 4 months since the start of January so it hasn't even been that  long
for you, as i've seen other artists take far longer than this and getting away with
it) you could've ask whoever you're commissioning to finish it quick before you payed
the money so they could have the chance to say, "sorry, I'm quite busy at the moment so i
might not finish it in the time you'd want me to". Sorry for making you take time out of your
college work to reply to my last comment, but i just wanted you to consider being even just
a little bit more patient with them. You never know what's going on in other people's lives.
